LA MIRADA, CA (May 17, 2022) – The Southwest Premier League (SWPL) is proud to announce a league affiliation agreement with the new Central Valley Premier League.

The newly formed Central Valley Premier League is reviewing team applications in preparation for the upcoming 2022/23 Season beginning in late August or early September.

“We are happy to welcome the Central Valley Premier League as a member of the SWPL through this affiliation. This is an important step in connecting and building out the NISA Nation vision in California,” Southwest Premier League President Matt Morse said. “Luis Enrique Basulto’s league connects the state’s middle with what is going on in the Pacific and SoCal regions, and we are going to work together to strengthen the pathways for players and clubs in the Central Valley.”

The Central Valley Premier League will be directly affiliated with the Pacific Premier League based in Northern California, promoting players and clubs up through the NISA pyramid.

“I’m very excited to have the CVPL join as an affiliate to SWPL,” Pacific Premier Region Manager Brent Housteau said. “This is a big step in creating an independent pyramid in Northern California. We will work closely with Luis to incorporate CVPL into the NISA pyramid and find other ways to work together, including plans to create a Northern California cup tournament for NISA affiliated clubs, possibly as soon as the 2022/23 season.”

The Central Valley Premier League will be centered in Lodi and Stockton, CA, with plans for immediate buildout in the Sacramento region.

“We’ll be starting with conferences in Lodi and Stockton, then Elk Grove and Sacramento so that by Fall 2023 we’re ready to bring in Manteca and Modesto,” Central Valley Premier League President Luis Enrique Basulto said. “We’re growing quickly and that’s one of the reasons we’re so excited to be affiliated with the SWPL and NISA Nation and the future of the game in this country.”

New team announcements will be made in the coming weeks. Contact CVPLsoccer@gmail.com for more information.
