Las Vegas Quicksilvers Join the SWPL

LAS VEGAS, NV (July 12, 2023) – The Southwest Premier League (SWPL) announces Las Vegas Quicksilvers Soccer Club as its newest member.

Formed in 2020 with the aim of creating a club that Las Vegas locals and fans could support, Las Vegas Quicksilvers will join Nevada Premier for the 2023/2024 season.

“The Quicksilvers were Vegas' first professional sports team and it was too short-lived, in our opinion, so we set out to revive the club with our values guiding every decision we make along the way from using local players to participating in leagues that share our vision of creating an open system," Las Vegas Quicksilvers owner Ben Thomas said. "While we love the history behind the team, we're more excited about the future and becoming an integral part of the local soccer community with each new season."

Esteban Mejia Flores will serve as head Coach. The club previously played in the SWPL in 2022 and recently completed in a UPSL regional cup.

The Quicksilvers name and branding is based on the team that competed in the North American Soccer League (NASL) during the 1977 season and featured Portuguese all-timer great Eusebio.
