LA MIRADA, CA (June 25, 2024) – The Southwest Premier League (SWPL), in coordination with its regional premier league members, is pleased to announce its second title event.
The SWPL Finals, a four-team tournament, will be held July 13-14 at Barbour Field on the campus of Biola University in Southern California, and feature regional amateur league champions from three Western states.
“The SWPL Finals is becoming a key competition in USASA Rregion IV because it allows leagues and teams the opportunity to compete for a spot in a national tournament," SWPL President Matt Morse said. "The winner of the SWPL Finals moves on to the NISA Nation National Championship playoffs and will play either a NISA Nation Southwest or Pacific Region champion for a spot in the NISA Nation Finals in December."
Clubs representing the SoCal Premier League, the Pacific Premier League, the San Diego Premier League and the Nevada Premier League were eligible to participate this year.
SoCal Premier League Division One champions Worldwide Problems FC were the first club to claim a semifinal round spot at the SWPL Championship, and both Nevada Premier League playoff champion Soccer Academy Nevada and inaugural San Diego Premier League champion Chula Vista FC also have qualifed.
In the Pacific Premier League, a playoff match between Fall Season champion ASC Silicon Valley and Spring Season champion Honduras SF U23s is scheduled for early July to determine a represtative.
SWPL Finals matchups and kickoff times will be announced.
